So that's what I have tried. I think there are some things I wont try. I'd also like to add that I crochet - I think crochet should be on there. I think double knitting should too, not that I've tried, but I will do.

Christmas Knitting

Why oh why oh why did I take on so much Christmas knitting. I'll never finish Neil's socks in time, especially now I've read the page for the airline we're using and it says no knitting needles in the hand luggage. I don't fancy arguing the toss that they're bamboo and would snap if I tried to stab anyone! Ah well nevermind.

Time, Where does it go?

I haven't posted on here for months, I just don't seem to have time anymore. That might be because I spend it all on Ravelry! It eats up my time, and that's just lunch breaks.

I finished the tea cosy, mine looks like this:



I've also finished a number of other projects, all on Ravelry, and have frogged some that will never be finished or that need to be reknit in the right size! The sleepers will be finished off and I will feel free from baggage. I hope.

Knit one, purl one, chase mouse

I was trying really hard to finish off my Calorimetry head band on Tuesday night, when I was interrupted by an unwelcome visitor. My cat brought a mouse into the house. I then spent 15 minutes trying to get it off her, before dumping both her and the mouse outside.

I went up to bed about an hour later to find the cat chasing the mouse up and down the side of the bath behind some make-up bags. I tried again to get the mouse, this time it escaped down beside the pipe from the toilet where it's boxed in. I haven't heard or seen anything of it since, so I'm assuming it's died under the bath. I'm leaving it as a present for my partner when he comes back from working abroad, I know he'll appreciate it.

Anyway, I managed to finish the last couple of rows of my Calorimetry last night, so here are a couple of pictures. None of me wearing it, I don't do fashion modelling.

Having signed up to Ravelry, it only seemed right that I should start a blog. I've only got 3 friends on it, but you never know, they might want to keep up with news of my day to day frustrations and knitting traumas.

At the moment I'm wondering why there's no double knit acrylic in my stash with which to make a tea cosy. Not very trendy I know, but I need one to keep my tea warm as it's cold over here. Normally I should have tons of double knit hanging around, but no, I made the big mistake. I had a clear out.

Clear outs are always a bad idea - you just know that a few weeks later you are going to need what you threw away. Now I'll have to visit the market and buy some super cheapo stuff, still at least it allows me to choose my colours.

I thought I would go for black and white, or black and red for mine - for more of a goth / punk look. Although I'm not sure that a tea cosy can be considered goth or punk.

Well that's it for today's posting - I'm sure this will keep me busy and away from doing anything more productive, like actually making the tea cosy, or even making the pot of tea for that matter!
